Almost on a weekly basis, I am being asked about the different resources and things that I use in addition to Advanced GET. Late last week, I picked up a new trading laptop to replace my ailing Dell computer. This time, I decided to take a look at Custom Trading Computers. They've got a reputation for providing the best trading setups & support channels. Because of the constant traveling, I needed something mobile. Here is a look at the new system and specs. This thing is FAST!
The Specs....
Model: NP 1560
Screen Size: 15.6" (The resolution maxes at 1920 X 1080 so the monitor size is no longer an issue)
Memory: 4GB
Processor: Intel i5 (64 Bit)
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium (This takes a little getting used to)
Hard Drive: 320 GB @ 7200 RPM
Wireless: B+G+N Channels
Other: Bluetooth, USB 3.0, 4GB Dual Channel, ddr3 Memory
Think about taking a more conservative approach to setting up your new computer:
• Save all paperwork, especially the purchase receipts. Start a file for your PC, just like the one you keep for your car, and make sure that you keep track of everything as you open each box.
• Save the box. Should you need to return the unit; many vendors require that it be shipped in the original packaging. Plan on keeping the boxes and packing material at least until your warranty or service agreement expires.
• Save all the installation disks. In addition to providing a vital backup if something goes wrong, these disks often include serial numbers and other information you'll need if you call for technical support.

Interesting. I'm in the planning phase of building myself a computer for online trading. I'm planning on using an ASUS A8N5X mobo with an AMD 64X2 3800 dual core CPU. I'm only going to be using 2 monitors, which is a step up for me from my Fujitsu laptop. My CPU is easily maxed out also with the graphics and charts.Sounds like you've already made your choices, but would agree that it's the processor and video cards holding you back. My opinion is that with the X2 and new cards you'll be flying again. 2Gb of ram is pretty hefty still these days.
